1981- Windsurfing brought me to the Gorge and I fell in love with
the people and the place. In 1990, I retired from teaching
in Vancouver, Canada and moved to Hood River. Soon,
I owned and operated a successful windsurfing school and became
Fitness Director of the Hood River Sports Club.
REAL ESTATE in Hood River
was happening so...
I jumped into the market, purchasing a cozy
starter home. Earlier, I had been "smitten" with
a charming old farm house, a real fixer upper, and in 1992
it was mine!. The rebuilding process from bare exterior framework
was a challenge, but the end result of a total remodel was
my dream, with lots of pine, old wood floors, an open floor
plan, and a spectacular view of Mt. Adams and the Columbia
River, my playground. This hands-on adventure left me with
a thorough working knowledge of the building process and home
evaluation.
I soon found I was actively studying the Real Estate market… the light came on. I realized that a change in career was in order. I entered the real estate business as a Professional Sales Associate, licensed in Oregon and Washington, with Don Nunamaker, Realtors, in Hood River. I love challenges, teaching and working with people, and Real Estate is the perfect avenue down which to channel my education, training and extra energy! From 1997 through 2007, I have been proud to earn TOP AGENT in our company!
In 2006, I studied for my Principal Broker designation and hired an energetic and wonderful licensed assistant, Susan Kaady. Susan is dynamic, energetic and a positive knowledgeable woman with a background in lending and interior design. What a Bonus!
There are many special features of the Gorge I treasure. I love….
- the outdoor pursuits, including trail running, hiking and of course, windsurfing.
- the small town of Hood River and all its original charm and beauty!
- the benefits of the city amenities of Portland near by.
- the influx of a wide variety of people who also can’t resist the Gorge allures.
Friendships grow fast and strong in the Gorge and I am here to stay!
