My name is Ruth Chausse, and I've lived in the Columbia River Gorge since 1988. I came here because within 40 miles in any direction I can hike the rainforest, ski high alpine mountains, run and ride in the desert or beautiful green valleys. I can not imagine a better place to have settled. The small communites through out the Gorge offer the type of intimancy that is very hard to come by. I can honestly say that I have not ever had so many wonderful friends. I truly enjoy helping new people settle here and share in this wonderful experience. The Gorge is a an amazing place to live , work and play!
