How long have you live in Hood River?

I grew up in Hood River, and went away for college, and moved back in 2010.

What do you love most about Hood River?

Not only is my family from here and still lives here, I love the beauty of the area, how there are many things to do, and Portland is only an hour away.

What’s your favorite sport to do in this area?

Snowboarding, I like going up to Mt. Hood Meadows in the winter.

What’s your favorite restaurant?

I like Bette's for breakfast. For dinner and lunches I like Double Mountain, Full Sail, Ixtapa, & The Crazy Pepper.

What’s your favorite store?

The Ruddy Duck

What’s your favorite community event?

Hops Fest, there are many great local breweries –  my favorites are Double Mountain and Full Sail.

What’s your favorite activity for kids you know? 

There are many great parks here for kids. In the summer, families in the park is a great event for kids.

What do you love most about Hood River?

Love the great community minded residents both local and new. There’s so much for everyone of every age to do and lots of fun activities/events throughout.

If I was any good at it – probably golf.

Going out to eat because there’s so much variety

Rosauers if I have to shop for groceries because there are so many locals that shop there.

I have lived in the Gorge since 1978. I have lived in Hood River since 2001..

What do you love most about Hood River?

What I love most about Hood River is the small town feel, yet so close to Portland &  the coast. The beauty of the area.

What’s your favorite sport to do in this area?

 Running all seasons at the Twin Tunnels Trail. Golf with Mt. Hood as the back drop. Bike ridding around Trout Lake, WA.

What’s your favorite activity to do in this area?

Day trips and overnight camping trips throughout the Mt. Hood and Gifford Pinchot National Forest.

What’s your favorite restaurant?

Divots –year round favorite, Brian’s Poor House -First Friday’s, Three River’s Grill-for sitting on the deck on warm days/evenings & buy one- get one free steak night on Wednesday’s through the winter, Celio- for Champears & 6th Street Bistro- always good.

Silverado, Doug’s Sports

First Fridays

What’s your favorite activity for kids you know? 

Swimming and playing at the Children’s Water Front Park. Mike’s Ice Cream is a must.

I have lived in Hood River for 26 years.

Why’d you move to Hood River?

We moved to Hood River because my husband, who is a photographer, can shoot winter in summer, the desert, the rainforest, high alpine mountains, and quaint small towns without having to leave our area.

What do you love most about Hood River?

What’s not to love..?

What’s your favorite sport to do in this area?

Currently horseback riding.  But I ski, bike, run, and workout at any of the gyms in town. Oh and I love to walk my dog!

What’s your favorite activity to do in this area?

I love to do all of the above with freiends and family plus die with friends at any of the fantastic resturants!

What’s your favorite restaurant?

We love Ixtapa, Riverside Grill, and Divots for dinner.

What’s your favorite store?

We love Lucy’s Informal Flower’s for the best fresh cut flowers, Gorge Dog, Pacifica Gifts and Little Bit Ranch Supply.

What’s your favorite community event?

The dog swim, fundraiser for the animal shelter.

What’s your favorite activity for kids you know? 

Hiking, swimming at the public pool.

Originally from Souther CA., moved to Portland in 1996 and then Hood River in 2002!

What do you love most about Hood River?

The incredible beauty of the area is what struck me first when I came to Hood River. After moving I was so appreciative of the unbelievable richness of the people who live here along wiht the diversity of activities to do & experience.

What’s your favorite sport to do in this area?

I do many sports, but stand up paddle boarding & swimming in the river with my daughter is high on the list!

What’s your favorite restaurant?

With so many to choose it's hard to pick a favorite, but Solstice at the Waterfront Park is a perfect spot to grab some pizza after playing in the river paddling. El Taqueria in the Heights is a good local spot for authentic Mexican food. Thai House & Pine Street Bakery!

What’s your favorite store?

Gorge Dog, Doug Sports (love their clothes), Second Wind & Silverado.... love them all!

What’s your favorite community event?

Thrusdays Gorge Growers Farmers Market, Families in the Park Concerts & First Fridays.

What’s your favorite activity for kids you know? 

Stand up paddling, hiking, swimming at the pool or river, Mtn. biking post canyon!!
